Calling all David Bowie lovers! Celebrate the life of Bowie through his music!

The 70’s Glam Rock tribute band, Candy Volcano, is at it again celebrating the birthday of the main man, David Bowie live at the TLA January 7, 2017.

This amazing group of musicians and 12+ singers/independent artists re-imagine the glitter, glam and glitz of Bowie’s early years. With Philly Loves Bowie week happening all around them, Candy Volcano will be the first of several Bowie happenings around Philadelphia between January 6 – January 14, 2017.

The show will include a complete reprise of the album “Aladdin Sane” by David Bowie plus hits and deep cuts from Bowie from 1970 to 1976. Featured singers in this show include Martha Graham Cracker, Pete Donnelly, Eric13, Kevin Monko, Shannon Vasile, Shawn Kilroy, Peg Talbott-Lane, Joseph Boneparte, Matt Skoufalos, Pamela Downes, Michele Herron, Rosalba Gallo and John Shaughnessy.

David Robert Jones, known professionally as David Bowie, was an English singer, songwriter and actor. He was a figure in popular music for over five decades, regarded by critics and musicians as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970′s. Bowie, born January 8, 1947, passed away on January 10, 2016.

Candy Volcano established 2013 as a musical community who loved glam rock of the early 70’s fearlessly and got together to put on a benefit to raise funds for Collingswood Bike Share. Since then they have taken off as the most joyous rock celebration of the early glam rock era. Playing rooms such as The Scottish Rite, World Café Live and the TLA, this band brings it the passion, the play, the glamour, the emotion and the truth of the only music that ever mattered.

This is a 21+, general admission event. You must have a valid government-issued, photo ID to enter. All attendees require a ticket.
